These tea houses provide a comfortable and often somewhat luxurious base from which to start your hike. However, for those who prefer more solitude or who just want a more immersive experience, there are also camping options available. Camping in the Khumbu region is a great way to get closer to the mountain and its environment, but it does come with the risk of extremely cold temperatures and unpredictable weather, so make sure you have the appropriate equipment and supplies.

As for supplies, you’ll need to make sure you have everything you need to make the journey. Make sure you have warm and waterproof clothing, sturdy footwear, a tent and sleeping bag, as well as food and water.
