On our Everest Heli Trek, hike up to the legendary Everest Base Camp and take a lovely helicopter ride back to Kathmandu. Within moments of being amidst the world’s tallest peaks, arrive back at your hotel in Kathmandu and enjoy a cold beer or warm meal in Thamel. If you take the Everest Base Camp Trek (which is amazing it itself), you miss the opportunity to fly in a helicopter. On the other hand, with just a helicopter tour, you do not get to see the Everest region for what it is.
For this reason, we have combined the two experiences into one ultimate package so you can get a full view of the Everest region. Make the quintessential Khumbu journey to the foot of the world’s highest peak and then glide through the air alongside rugged peaks with views that can only be had in the aircraft that you are sitting in.
The epic adventure kicks off with a flight to Tenzing-Hillary Airport from Kathmandu. Even by this point, trekkers are stoked by the views and enthused for what is yet to come. Head from Lukla to Namche Bazaar (a hike that takes two full days). Namche is the bustling marketplace and trading center of the area.
In Namche and each village in between, enjoy spending time with Sherpas and learning about their livelihood. They practice Buddhism and are proud to host visitors in this incredible part of the Earth. Let us know if you would like to take the Everest Heli Trek during one of the Sherpa festivals throughout the year to add an awesome cultural dimension to your trek.
As the path rises, so does our excitement. Reach Tengboche Monastery, and receive a blessing of good luck from the monks there before making a final ascent to Everest Base Camp (5380 meters). Though this is a major highlight of the trek, the best view comes the following day. Wake up early and hike to Kala Patthar (5545 meters) for a majestic view, and perhaps the best view of Mount Everest. In addition to Everest, you will see AmaDablam, Lhotse, Makalu, and other towering peaks.
Instead of retracing your steps for several days back to Lukla and taking a flight to Kathmandu, the Everest Heli Trek allows for the quick and easy way back. A helicopter welcomes you at base camp and escorts your back to the Kathmandu Domestic Airport. From here, we transport you back to your hotel. The quickness and convenience of this package cannot be beat!
You can take the Everest Heli Trek all throughout the year. The best times to make the trip, though, are during the spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) seasons. These seasons provide the best weather and clearest skies, not to mention that during the springtime, rhododendron and other alpine flowers are in bloom. Third Eye Adventure Pvt. Ltd. handles the trek with complete management. If you have any questions about the trek, do ask!
