Join our Nepal Highlights Tour to get the best of the best in our tiny, but culturally and geographically diverse country. Most people only have the opportunity to visit Nepal once in their life, so it’s best to make the most of it!
The Nepal Highlights Tour kicks off with an all-encompassing tour of Nepal’s capital city, Kathmandu. Each place we visit on this day is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Check out Pashupatinath, the most famous Hindu temple in Kathmandu that also has a cremation ground on the banks of the Bagmati River. Then, sit back and relax in the quietness of Boudhanath, one of the largest Buddhist stupas in the world. Soak in thepeaceful vibes and you slowly make a kora around the stupa.
Swayambunath is the next famous Buddhist site on our tour. Situated atop a hill near Thamel, Swayambu gives the quintessential Nepalreligious experience. It is always bustling with devotees, yet peaceful at the same time. Then, a trip to Kathmandu Durbar Square is a must! Walk around in awe at the feats of the medieval Newar architects. If the timing is right, we can get a glimpse of the Kumari, Nepal’s living and breathing goddess.
Make a stop at Lumbini, where the founder of Buddhism – Siddartha Gautama (aka Buddha) – was born. As one of the most sacred places in the world for Buddhists, Lumbini is teeming with spiritual energy. We visit Maya Devi Temple and pay homage to the exact place where Buddha is said to have been born. Theserene, peaceful ambiance of Lumbini calms us and we stroll from monastery to monastery, temple to temple.
Next up is the supreme wildlife destination – Chitwan National Park. With over 932 kilometers of protected land, you could spend weeks in Chitwan and still not discover all that it offers. There are many ways to see the park. Take a canoe ride down the Rapti River, home of the rare Gangetic dolphin. Or, take the classic elephant-back safari ride, while keeping your eyes peeled for the Royal Bengal Tiger and the one-horned rhino.
You cannot leave Chitwan without spending time with the local Tharu people, natives of the area. Learn about their language, dress, and day to day lifestyle. Learning about a place’s culture adds a lot of value to your experience.
Last, but not least, we make our way towards Pokhara– adventure tourism capital of Nepal. Outdoor enthusiasts and adrenaline junkie from all over the world come here to get their adventure fix. There are countless things to do here, so we spend our time wisely, while still saving time to relax by Phewa Lake.
Have an early morning wakeup to see the majestic sunrise from Sarangkot. Stare off at the glowing mountains as the sun hits their peaks.
Throughout the day, we make stops at as many of the following places as you would like: Gupteshwor Cave, Davis Falls, Mahendra Cave, Seti Gorge, and the International Mountain Museum. Each gives a distinct experience. Spend the rest of your time just chilling out around lakeside Pokhara.
