On first arrival reaching the soil of Himalayan country Nepal at Kathmandu international Airport, received by our guide and staff for short transfer to you hotel in the hub of Kathmandu city at Thamel, an interesting area where trekkers can find all needful items in the shops and stores at Thamel. Check into your rooms after a rest then down at meeting place in the hotel lobby or foyer for group briefing where our guide or leader will provide you with information of the treks with other necessary queries to make your stay with us enjoyable. Evening welcome dinner is organized in nice authentic Nepalese restaurant with country cultural program to entertainment you along with nice dinner.
Tsum Valley Trek
Day 01 Welcome to Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
Day 02 Sight seen of world heritage sites and trek preparation
In Kathmandu spare and free day at leisure for Tsum Valley treks preparation with options for tour around Kathmandu, as this city steeped with historical and ancient religious sites of both Hindu and Buddhism religions, an exciting tour to catch glimpse of Nepalese cultures as it were hundreds of centuries and within World Heritage Sites.
Day 03 Drive to Sotikhola village about 6 hours by private jeep.
Morning an interesting long drive towards Nepal Mid West, journey leads to Dhading areas to reach around Gorkha district on dirt road past farm villages and forest to reach on the side of Burigandaki River at Arughat farm town.From this town drive continues through rice terraces fields and villages heading upstream of Budhigandaki River to Soti-Khola village for overnight stop in local simple lodge.
Day 04 Trek to Machhakhola 1300 trek about 6 hrs
From Sotikhola first day walk on trail where route lead into steep valley, within dense forested area and past small villages to reach wide valley opposite at the point where large tributary stream enters into Budhigandaki River. The terraced cultivated field belongs to upper village of Lapbesi. From here our path descends to a wide, sandy riverbed following a trail meandering below the steep, craggy valley side. At some length leading to a climb on the trail to Machha Khola for overnight stop, with number of teashops and small lodge, the word Maccha Khola means Fish Stream.
Day 05 Trek to Dovan via Tatopani (Hot Spring) about 6 hours.
Walk from this small village leads to several interesting farm villages and crops fields as vegetation changes slowly, as morning leads to cross a stream where Machha Khola village name comes from (Fish stream), from here follow upstream towards Khola-Bensi village and at Tatopani 'hot spring'. An opportunity for hot bathe as time allows, after a nice refreshing break walk carries on to reach at Dovan for overnight stop in this small farm village next of Yaruphant village.
Day 06 Trek to Philim via Jagat about 6 hours.
Morning walk across broad gravel field to Lauri stream to cross over suspension bridge which leads to a climb on high trails and then descending into open valley of Yara Khola, where our journey continues on for another hour to the village of Jagat. Jagat a nice looking farm village of moderate size after Arughat; people here with mix race Magar, Chettries, Brahman, Manaslu Bhotia (Tibetan looking tribes) and some Newar people a lodge owner and shopkeepers. From Jagat descends to a river, where trail climbs on terraced hillside at Saguleri, with distance view of Sringi Himal 7,187m, walk continue with ups and down trail as our route reach at a bridge over Buri-Gandaki. Crossing bridge as path winds up to Philim village for overnight stop, with time here to observe around nice farm village with rich cultivated farm fields and well tended terraces.
Day 07 Trek to Chumling via Lokpa about 6 hours.
After refreshing overnight stop at Philim, walk leads higher past scattered farm villages with climb through terraces of golden fields of wheat’s and barley, to reach a rocky ridge top covered within bamboo forest area towards Eklai Bhatti means a lonely Inn, after a rest head towards Lokpa, where route diverts to North East to reach Lokpa. From here enter into fresh new area and away from main trekking paths of Manaslu where route divert to Tsum into a valley of happiness from here walk proceeds past few small farm lands and scattered villages with views of Ganesh and Manaslu Himal, as our day walk ends entering a nice village at Chumling for overnight halt.
Day 08 Trek to Chhokan-Paro about 5 hours.
A serene country with fresh cool mountain air as elevation gains slowly as adventure progress heading into inner area of Tsum valley, where walk descend to cross over a bridge at Smatiking Khola, overlooking views of Ganesh Himal also called Yangra in local language of Tibetan origin, then slowly to our overnight stop at Chhokan-Paro a nice moderate size village.
Day 09 Trek to Nile about 5 hours.
From here onward within inner Tsum valley, as morning walks lead towards higher elevation to reach at Nile village around wide open and exposed valley with dramatic arid and dry country similar to Tibetan landscapes. As tree lines drops from here on with only few smaller juniper and pine trees with bushes, as journey continues along with views of Ganesh and Manaslu Himal mountain range, after a scenic good trek finally ending the day at Nile. On route trek with time to explore Guru Milereppa meditation cave a great Buddhist saint with history of 11th century, Milereppa a poet, singer as well tantric guru where his folk stories, good words and songs are still remembered by large number of Tibetans to this day.
Day 10 Trek to Mu Gompa about 4 hours.
Today a short day walk to reach at the end of our Tsum Valley adventure to reach at Mu Gompa, a place with old interesting monastery of the region. Walk with climb towards high and dry country facing views of surrounding high peaks within North, East and West direction, and then slowly walk completes reaching Mu Gompa for overnight stop. Afternoon enjoy walks to explore around this wild country on least visited region by only few group of western trekkers with peaceful time and moments within traditional village and visit ancient monastery of Mu Gompa, treasures antique important idols, statue and relics, Mu Gompa highest spot of the trek.
Day 11 Trek to Bhajyo about 5 hours.
From Mu Gompa after gaining much experience of local culture and custom, from here walk leads to higher ground at Bhajyo, where route leads to climb on steep hill slope facing magnificent views of surrounding mountains that encircles the area and route of our walks. Slowly entering at Bhajyo a smaller farm village one of the most remote and hidden areas of Tsum valley and close behind Ganesh Himal, Bhajyo a place of cattle and Yak herders the village at the height of 4,240 m the highest point of the adventure before Larke-La Pass.
Day 12 At Bhajyo for rest and acclimatization with day excursion.
At Bhajyo a free day where one can take short excursion around pristine area where few trekkers and adventurer seldom explore or have ventured, enjoy scenic walks catching fabulous vista of peaks and visit around this small village of interesting farm life.
Day 13 Trek to Rachen-Gompa about 5 hours.
After an exciting and interesting time on high remote Tsum valley, walk leads to next monastery of great interest at Rachen Gompa, where walk leads on gradual trail with short ups and downs with lovely panorama of snow capped peaks, heading through yak herders summer pasture to reach Rachen Gompa and its moderate size village for overnight stop.
Day 14 Trek to Chumling 6 hours.
Return journey enjoying wonderful time around high Tsum valley, where walk leads towards lower area at the end of Tsum region at Chumling village, as route heads back within tree lines and green vegetation to reach at Chumling village the last and final overnight stop within Tsum Valley area.
Day 15 Trek to Lokpa about 5 hours.
From Chumling leaving behind beautiful country of Tsum valley and interesting villages then on the same route back to reach at Lokpa for overnight stop which is near on the trail of Manaslu and Tsum valley.
Day 16 Trek to Jagat via Philim about 6 hours.
From Lokpa village, morning on downhill following a river with views of waterfalls to reach at Samba, Tingding Chhupyang villages as our walk ends at Philim village for overnight stop. Philim a nice farm village with much cultivated farm terraces, then downhill to much low and warm areas reaching at Jagat a nice and lovely farm village for overnight stop.
Day 17 Trek to Tatopani about 5 hours.
From Jagat descend to Yaruphant, and then into lower sub-tropical area with dramatic change in vegetation, finally ending six hours walk to our overnight stop at Tatopani a small farm village with hot spring as Tatopani in Nepali means 'hot water', afternoon enjoy the hot springs and relax. The local believes that the spring water have a natural power to cure various disease and wounds.
Day 18 Trek to Sotikhola about 5 hours.
After a pleasant stop at Tatopani enjoying its hot spring, morning walk to Sotikhola following Budhigandaki River downstream, after hours of good walk reaching at Gurung village of Labubesi, from here walk further within terraced fields and waterfalls to reach our last overnight stop at Sotikhola.
Day 19 Drive back to Kathmandu and transfer to hotel about 7 hrs by jeep
After an enjoyable and fascinating adventure around Tsum Valley then completing our scenic walks with morning drive from Sotikhola on dirt road for sometimes past many farm villages and town, as route joins on the main highway of Kathmandu and Pokhara past Dhading area, from here on easy and interesting drive to reach back into hustle and bustle city life of Kathmandu, with rest of the evening free at leisure in the hotel.
Day 20 International departure for home ward bound.
After a marvelous adventure and experience in Nepal with glorious moments around high Himalaya and on Tsum Valley trekking , with your last day in the country of high mountains and colorful culture, our staff and guide transfers you to airport for your flight back home or to next port of call.
