As you reach at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu, Third Eye Adventure arranges as airport representative who will meet you and end up the formalities (Visa, etc). You just need to confirm our representative with a show board at the way in gate. You will after that shift to the hotel. Upper Dolpo Trek - 26 Days
Day 01 Arrive in Kathmandu
Day 02 Kathmandu sightseeing and preparing for trek
Today, you will go for sightseeing in Kathmandu. The main fascinations of the sightseeing tour are going around Kathmandu valley where you can see many age-old temples, architectures and more; going around Boudhanath which is one of the biggest Buddhist Stupa in the entire world; Swayambhunath, a renowned monkey temple falling at the hillock; Pashupatinath, a prominent Hindu temple and numerous enthralling places to visit. And many of them are enlisted in UNESCO’s world heritage list. Also, we will prepare for trek today.
Day 03 Fly from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj
We will fly from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj located on the edge to India. After reaching Nepalgunj, we will shift to hotel. On this day, we can go around the Bageshwari Temple devoted to Goddess Kali. More over, in Nepalgunj, you can make a visit to a bazaar here which has varied materials on sale.
Day 04 Fly from Nepalgunj to Juphal and trek to Dunai
Today, we will fly from Nepalgunj to Juphal (2345m). When we arrive at Juphal (2500m), we start a short walk to Dunai (2050m). We stroll down passing through grazing land and get around via not many houses to the tiny hotels at Kala Gaura. Later, we go side by side with the river that makes way up to Dunai.
Day 05 Trek Dunai to Chepka
Today, we will be traversing the large bridge and then we will walk to the west, then we will walk beside the Bheri River to its connection with the Suli Gaad river. After about an hour, we go into Kal Rupi and then walk to arrive at Raktang (2260m). We will walk on the west bank and go by a lot of grazing regions higher than an edging to Jyalhasa. We will after that pass all the way through bridge above the east bank, and then pass through the Ankhe River (2460m). Also, we will go round on the older path that takes us to national park falling at Ankhe, and trek via Pahela plus Rahagoun communities. Now, the track reaches Phoksundo Lake and then reaches Chepka. Overnight in Chepka.
Day 06 Chepka to Renjo
We will on this day follow the trail at the surface of the river then shift through the west side to elapse from a magnificent crest and roll in the region of the east part. After that, our path moves and goes down to pass forests of larches, and stroll next to stream that takes us to the region of Renjo.
Day 07 Renjo to Ringmo
Today we will shift east and our path becomes slender. We after that set off over a crest and move a little down to a bridge and pass all along the vale to the blending of the Pungmo River. Now, the path reaches to beautiful Phoksundo Lake and then path go to Shey Gompa. We go up via cedar woods and get to Palam village lying at 3710m. We will get into Shey Phoksumdo National Park positioned at the south part of the village. From this point we can see a notable 200m cascade. The way moves next to birch woods to the profoundly apparent Phoksundo River. Next, we escalate to Ringmo village, an eye-catching spot with a lot of chortens plus mani walls.
Day 08 Rest Day at Ringmo
Today we will rest in Ringmo to visit Shey Phoksundo lake for proper acclimatization. We walk ahead from juniper woods and move toward Pal Sentan Thasoon Chholing monastery. Also, we will view five different monasteries which holds Buddhist statues, paintings, etc.
Day 09 Ringmo to Chunemba
On this day will stroll on a rock-strewn edging after passing the west part of the beautiful lake. On the way, we can perceive the glacier from the upper slant of Kanjeralwa. We subsequently turn up to a ridge falling at 4060m for an astonishing picture of the lake with the snowy Sonam Kang Peak in the setting. The trail moves to the front and walks along pines, birches, to the west part of the lake. The track takes us to a long a giant valley. We walk on a cloudy lane through scrub woods as well as spiny bushes.
Day 10 Chunemba to Lar Tsa
We will shift next to the pathway that reaches the north spot via a glacial gorge. We after that traverse the eastern side of Phoksundo. We trek on the key ravine for an extra hour to Kang Gompa. We will from here view astounding scenes of Kang Chunne (6443m) plus Shey Shikar (6139m). We will go down unhurriedly on a gritty track to Lar Tsa. Overnight at camp in Lar Tsa.
Day 11 Lar Tsa to Mendok Din
We traverse a bridge and hike to reach at 4490m; subsequently we will ascend to a peak falling at 4640m. We later go down tenderly to Mendok Din. We yet again go up beside the river to a camp lying at 4610m.
Day 12 Mendok Din to Shey Gompa
We will move to Phoksumdo River, and wind north peak of Riwo Drugdra. We go diagonally to the Sehu La placed at west side of Crystal Mountain. At this time, the path descends to a slope to a green meadow beside the river and moves on a series of long downhill and climbs crossways from side to side with edges. We now have a rough rise to a climax at 5010m and a further at 4860m. We start descend to the Tar valley and reach at Tsakang, an old monasteries clinging alongside a cliff. We set our camp at Shey Gompa for overnight.
Day 13 Rest Day at Shey Gompa
Today we will rest in Shey Gompa for proper acclimatization. Also, we might go across the river all the way from side to side with a bridge and climb by way of a big chorten and a vast view to the Shey gompa. Overnight at Shey Gompa again.
Day 14 Shey Gompa to Namgung
Departing from Shey Gompa, we will today walk to east direction and move corner to corner to an altitude 5010m where Shey La is sited. Now, we go encircling North part and drop down prior to move up one more time to Namgung located at 4430m. Overnight in Namgung.
Day 15 Namgung to Saldang
We will be passing through the Namgung River to reach Karang falling at the height of 4060m today. After that, we have a walk to move down to get to Saldang at the beach of the river.
Day 16 Saldang to Sibu
We move effortlessly to Sibu positioned at the height of 4200m. passing chhorten, valley and other buddhist monuments. Overnight at Sibu.
Day 17 Sibu to Lagmo Che
The walk starts easy through the bank of the river. We gonna go inhabitant place to the pass base camp of Jeng La. To reach Langmo Che we need to walk 2 hours steeply up.
Day 18 Lagmo Che to Tokyu
Today would be the another pass called Jeng La (5110m). From the pass we could see stunning view of Mt Dhaulagiri (8167m) and other snow capped mountains. After the pass we do enter Tarap valley. Tokyo one of the highest settlement of human in the world where you can observe monastries of Maitreya the future Buddha. Overnight at Tokyu.
Day 19 Tokyo to Dho Tarap
We trek shortly to Dho Tarap a beautiful mountain village with a famous French NGO school if you want to visit this school the teachers are very pleased to show around.. Dho Tarap is traditional agriculture village where the farmer grow up potatoes, barley, buckwheat etc.
Day 20 Dho Tarap to Sisaul
Short hike down to Sisaul by following Tarap Khola (river). We are leaving the bare part to green bushes parts. Just before Sisual we have to cross a small pass then a bit down arrives another beautiful village with greenery.
Day 21 Sisaul to Laina Odar
As we climb down we see now the trees with more green. You mostly walk beside the river towering rocks on both sides, upon you arrive at Nawarpani the trails descend down to Laina Odar with wide path.
Day 22 Laina Odar to Lingdo
We ascend a bit steeply to Laisicap about 3 hours walk. After this failry easy walk gradually going down to Lingdo a small village of Buddhist Magars. overnight at Lingdo.
Day 23 Lingdo to Dunai
Almost end of the trek one more days to go here we arrive of Dunai the headquarter of Dopla district. An easy walk to Dunai by passing narrow and wide trails. Overnight at Dunai.
Day 24 Dunai to Juphal
We are almost entering to urban place after 3 weeks wild trekking where we can get plane to fly. Passing suspension bridge and nice terrace of field with seasonal corps we will enjoy the short walk.
Day 25 Fly to Kathmandu through Nepalgunj
We will fly to Nepalgunj from Jhupal. And from Nepalgunj, we come back to Kathmandu. Upon entrance in Kathmandu, you will shift to hotel. Remaining time, we can relax today or last minute shopping. Overnight at Kathmandu.
Day 26 Farewell Day
Our agency’s representative will greet you at your hotel and offer you a Khada (a kind of cloth which is worn on your neck). Wearing Khada means good luck and protection. Afterwards you will be taken to the airport. See you next time.
