Detail Itinerary

  • Day 01 Fly to Lukla From Kathmandu and trek to Phakding (Walking Distance: 8 KM), 45 minutes flight and about 3 hours trek.

    We'll start our journey with a sensational trip to Lukla from Kathmandu. It is one of the most sensational short flights in the world. A single runway drops off to the profound valley below the Lukla Airport, which is located on a slope. In the heart of the mountains and surrounded by green slopes, Lukla is very captivating, and flying there is considered an exciting experience.

    Starting from the small town of Lukla, the trail gradually moves towards the charming Cheplung Village. From this vantage point, one can see the holy Mount Khumbila, its peak standing tall and proud above the lush green valleys. From there, the pathway gradually descends towards the town of Phakding, where the tranquil Dudh Koshi River valley lies to the north of Lukla.

    Along the trail, trekkers will be able to delight in the serene beauty of the majestic mountain landscape; tall emerald hills stand proudly on both sides of the path and offer a stunning view of the majestic Kusum Kangraru Mountain.   • Day 02 Phakding to Namche Bazaar (Walking Distance: 10-12 KM),about 6 hours.

    Early next morning, after an early breakfast at Phakding, we set off on our journey to NamcheBazaar. The walk is estimated to take around 10-12 KM and will roughly take 6 hours.

    As we start on the trail, we come across some small villages, like Jorsale and Monjo. Monjo is situated north of Phakding and is the entry point of Sagarmatha National Park.

    The trekking trail through the Sagarmatha National Park which is a delightful journey as it presents us with several marvels. It is a heavenly sight to behold the snow-capped forests, small streams and creeks, and deciduous woodlands. The Sagarmatha National Park is included in the Sacred Himalayan Landscape and is listed under the UNESCO World Heritage Site.

    Sagarmatha National Park is a must-visit for all the nature and adventure lovers out there. Not only is it home to the world’s highest peak, Mt.   • Day 03 Acclimatization Day Hike to Everest View Hotel (Walking Distance: 3-4 KM) about 3-4 Hours.

    Today is Acclimatization Day at Namche. After morning breakfast, we take the path up to Syangboche Airstrip. This airstrip lies on a slope, and from here, we can get an all-encompassing view of Namche, with magnificent views of the Himalayas and other mountain peaks.

    Our journey continues to Everest View Hotel, the highest-located hotel in the world. From here, we get an amazing view of Mount Everest and other peaks of the Himalayas. We can also explore some local sights, like the Everest Photo Gallery and the Sherpa Culture Museum, which are great sources of information about the local culture, local customs, and the Himalayan environment.

    At the museum, we can learn about the local Sherpa culture and the importance of the environment in their lives. We also get to see some of the local artifacts and religious items and learn about the region's history.

  • Day 04 Namche to Tengboche (Walking Distance: 10-11 KM) about 6 Hours

    Today's journey takes us from Namcheto Tengboche, a distance of 10-11 km, or about 6 hours of walking. This trail is no ordinary path but holds some of the most breathtaking natural scenery and views of the Himalayas, making it one of the most memorable walks of the entire trek.

    The journey begins with a simple trail from Namche, which opens out towards the Dudh Koshi Valley at the settlement of Phungki Thanka. From here, the views of Mount Everest are simply stunning and worth the effort of this trek.

    The trail proceeds along the right side of the Dudh Koshi River before finally reaching the village of Tengboche. Along the way, hikers will be rewarded with stunning views of both rivers, as well as of the hills that are blanketed with rhododendron trees.

    But the highlight of the journey from Namche to Tengboche is the famous Tengboche Monastery. Situated at the juncture of the Dudh Koshi and Imja Khola Rivers, this Buddhist monastery is the largest of its kind in the Khumbu region. From here, trekkers can admire the beauty of the Himalayas and contemplate the spiritual teachings of Buddhism.

  • Day 05 Tengboche to Dingboche (Walking Distance: 11-12 KM) about 6 Hours

    Today we’re off to Dingboche, located 11-12km from Tengboche, and it’s an estimated 6-hour journey. Crossing the Imja River, we’ll use a suspension bridge for a more thrilling experience. We’ll be passing through the picturesque Pangboche town before reaching our destination.

    This region enjoys plenty of sunshine and warmth, so it’s the perfect place to rest and enjoy the scenery. From the town of Dingboche, we can get the best views of Lhotse, the Ama Dablam, and the Island Peak.

    We’ll be spending the night in a Guesthouse, where we can relax and get a good night’s rest. The trekking trail to Dingboche is spectacular, with breathtaking views and a unique experience to make your journey truly memorable. So don’t forget to bring your camera to capture plenty of amazing shots!

  • Day 06 Acclimatization day hike to Nagerjun and return (Walking Distance: 5-6 KM) about 4-5 Hours

    After a long day of trekking, Dingboche is the ideal spot for acclimatizing. Nestled in between the Chhukung Valley, Dingboche is surrounded by majestic mountains, making it a perfect place to take a day hike to Nagerjun.

    From Dingboche, we can reach Nagerjun through a steep climb of about 5-6 kilometers and about 4 to 5 hours of trekking.

    As we climb up to Nagerjun, we can take in the stunning views of the Lobuche East (6119m), Lobuche West (6145m), Kangtega (6685m), Taboche Peak (6367m), Thamserku (6608m), and the Ama Dablam (6856m). On a sunny morning, we might even get the chance to enjoy the panoramic views of Mount Makalu, the  5th tallest peak in the world. The views of Pheriche Valley, which can be seen from Nagerjun, are also breathtaking.

    After a fulfilling lunch break, we can begin our descent back to Dingboche. This part of the hike, though less strenuous than the climb up, is equally rewarding as we can take in the beautiful mountain views once again.

    Acclimatizing at Dingboche by taking a day hike to Nagerjun and back is a great way to adjust to the high altitude and prepare for hikes of longer duration. The majestic views of the mountains, along with the challenging climb, make this hike a must-do for every trekker.

  • Day 07 Dingboche to Lobuche (Walking Distance: 11-12 KM) about 5 Hours

    Today, we will embark on our trial from Dingboche to Dhungla. Along the way, we will make a stop at the Trekkers Aid Post, which has been arranged by the Western Volunteer Doctors and helped by the Himalayan Rescue Association. The post offers trekkers a chance to seek medical treatment and advice when needed.

    From the Post, we will continue on and reach Chupki Lhara, a stone-strewn angle from where we can have an amazing view of the surrounding mountain peaks such as Khumbutse, the Mahalangur Himal, Lingtren, and the Pumori. Onward, we will traverse the Khumbu Glacier moraine and be greeted with the majestic view of Mount Nuptse. Lastly, we will make our way to Lobuche, where we will rest in a guest house for the night.

  • Day 08 Lobuche to Everest Base Camp (5364m) Gorekshep (Distance: 14-15 KM) about 8 hours.

    Today is the day we set out on our journey to Everest Base Camp. We begin our trek from Lobuche, a small mountain town in the Khumbu region of Nepal. We will be walking for approximately 8 hours, covering a distance of 14-15 km, and gaining an altitude of around 5364m.

    The trek begins with a moderate walk, taking us past the Khumbu Glacier, one of the world’s highest. We will continue walking for around 2-3 hours until we reach Gorakshep (5181m/16994ft). This tranquil area is specked with cabins and provides an ideal rest spot before our final ascent.

    From Gorakshep, the route leads us up to the top of the rim and finally reaches the Everest Base Camp. Here, we can take in the majesty of the Khumbu Icefall and the stunning views of the Khumbutse and Lingtren mountains. We can take some time to enjoy the atmosphere of the Base Camp and the awe-inspiring sights before heading back to Gorakshep. We will spend the night in a guesthouse.

  • Day 09 Gorakshep - Kala Pathar (5545m/18188ft) - Pheriche (Distance: 13-14 KM) about 7 hours.

    The Kalapatthar climb is a key highlight of the Everest Base Camp trek, considered one of the most rewarding treks of the entire excursion. The expedition begins with an early morning climb from Gorakshep to Kalapatthar. Kalapatthar is a renowned vantage point that provides panoramic views of the majestic Mount Everest, Nuptse, Chagatse, Lhotse, and the Pumori, among many other peaks.

    It is a breathtaking experience to climb to Kalapatthar at daybreak, as the rising sun fills the sky and the mountain crests with hues of gold and silver. The sun rises from the midst of the Himalayan Mountains and totally changes the landscape.

    After investing some energy at Kalapatthar, we will return to Gorakshep and walk down to Pheriche. We will spend the night at a guesthouse.

  • Day 10 Pheriche to Namche(Walking Distance: 14-15 KM), about 7 hours.

    Today, we'll be heading back to Namche from Pheriche. The trail follows the Imja River all the way to Tengboche. From Tengboche, we will descend towards Phungki Thanka, pass the Kyangjuma, and reach Namche.

    The trek back is a pleasant one, with the stunning views of the Himalayas visible, painting the landscape with a beautiful backdrop. As we make our way through the villages, we get to see the locals going about their daily lives and can watch as they go about their rituals and activities.

  • Day 11 Namche to Lukla (Walking Distance: 18-19 KM) about 7 Hours

    Today we are embarking on our journey from Namche to Lukla, located in the Everest region of Nepal. The walking distance from Namche to Lukla is 18-19 km and it usually takes about 7 hours to complete the trek.

    As we leave Namche, we will be following a steep path downwards, crossing through several suspension bridges along the way. The trail is lined with traditional votive offerings, “mani” stone walls, and small gompas.

    The Dudh Koshi River gushes by and adds to the beauty of the landscape. We will pass through open fields, pine forests, and rhododendron trees and gaze upon the white-tipped snow-capped mountains in the distance.

    Eventually, we will reach Lukla, and our trek is complete. It’s time to reward ourselves for our hard work and enjoy some much-needed rest. After all the physical exertion, we can rejoice in the success of completing the trek.

  • Day 12 Lukla to Kathmandu

    It’s been an incredible trek and a unique experience that we will never forget. Our final day of trekking is here, and it’s time for us to return to bustling Kathmandu. This 45 minute flight back to Kathmandu from Lukla will mark the end of our trekking journey.

    On this trip back, we can take in the amazing views of the landscape one last time. The snow-covered mountain tops, the meandering rivers, and the lush green valleys make for a truly spectacular sight. It’s a sight that will stay with us for a long time.

    Once we reach Kathmandu airport, we will be moved to our hotel. Kathmandu is a vibrant and lively city with unique culture and attractions. Exploring the city is an experience like no other.

    We may have finished our trekking journey, but that doesn’t mean the adventure ends here. The city of Kathmandu will provide us with many more activities and attractions to explore, giving us plenty of time to reminisce about our experience and our memories of the mountains.
