    This 11-day tour is the complete Tibet adventure. It starts in Kathmandu, Nepal. You will fly over the Himalayas to Lhasa. Then, you will drive across Tibet's high plains. The trip visits the north Everest Base Camp. You will end with a scenic drive back down to Nepal. This is the best way to see all of Tibet.

    This tour combines Nepal and Tibet. You will spend two days in Kathmandu. You will see its main temples. Then, you fly to Lhasa. You spend three days in Lhasa to adjust to the altitude. You will see the Potala Palace and top monasteries. After, you begin the great overland drive. You will see holy lakes, high passes, and old towns. The high point is visiting Everest Base Camp. You will see the world's tallest peak. Finally, you will drive down from the high plateau to the Nepal border and return to Kathmandu.

    How can I get my Tibet visa and travel permits?

    Third Eye Adventure will arrange all the travel permits and the Tibet visa for you. For this, you need to send a scanned copy of your passport. Sometimes the government of China can close the entry permit without any prior notice so keep in touch with us. We will also inform you if anything goes beyond the plan.

    What are the places I will visit in Tibet?

    The places you will visit in Tibet include Khamba La Pass (4,794m), Karo La Pass (5,045m) Tashilhunpo Monastery, Kumbum Stupa, Phalkor Monastery, Kambala (4749 m) pass to Lhasa, Yamdrok-Tso Lake, Tibetan river Yarlung Tsangpo (Brahmaputra), Jokhang Temple, Barkhor Square, Potala Palace, Drepung Monastery and many more.

    What are the places I will visit in Kathmandu?

    The places you will visit inside Kathmandu include Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swayambhunath(Monkey Temple), Pashupatinath Temple Boudhanath Stupa and Patan Durbar Square.

    When is the best time to visit Tibet?

    It is possible to visit Tibet throughout the year but the best time is during April to October

    Will I receive a welcome upon arrival at the airport?

    Yes, you will be received by a Third Eye Adventure staff with your name written on the placard. Then you will be taken to a nice hotel in the city area.

    What about the wifi and electricity facilities?

    During the Nepal and Tibet tours, you will be staying at the hotel. All the hotels are equipped with wifi and electricity so you don’t have to worry about wifi and electricity.

    What about food and drinks?

    While staying in Kathmandu breakfast will be included but you need to pay for the lunch and the dinner. During the tour, three meals(breakfast,luncha and dinner) are provided in the hotel where you will be staying.

    How high is this tour?

    This is a very high-altitude tour. You will sleep at 5,000 meters (16,400 ft) at Rongbuk. You will visit Everest Base Camp at 5,250 meters (17,220 ft).

    Is altitude sickness a big risk?

    Yes. It is the main challenge. We plan the trip so you adjust in Lhasa for 3 nights. But you must drink lots of water, go slow, and tell your guide if you feel sick.

    What is the accommodation at Rongbuk like?

    It is very basic. You will stay at a simple guesthouse. Rooms are often shared. Toilets are outside. It is very cold.

    How cold will it be at EBC?

    It will be very cold, even in summer. At night, it will be below freezing. You must bring very warm clothes, a hat, and gloves.

    What is the border crossing like?

    The crossing from Zhangmu (Tibet) to Kodari (Nepal) is on a bridge. You must walk across with your luggage. It is a busy border post.

    What is the "Nepal Group Visa" for Tibet?

    It is a special visa for tourists entering Tibet from Nepal. We must get this for you in Kathmandu. Your 10-year China visa will not work.

    Do I need travel insurance?

    Yes. You must have travel insurance. It must cover emergency evacuation from high altitude.

    What money should I use?

    You need Nepali Rupees for Nepal. You must use Chinese Yuan (CNY) in Tibet. Bring cash. There are no ATMs after Shigatse.

    Is there internet or Wi-Fi?

    Hotels in Kathmandu, Lhasa, and Shigatse have Wi-Fi. It is slow. There is no Wi-Fi at Rongbuk, Gyantse, or Zhangmu.

    What power plugs are used?

    Nepal uses types C, D, and M. Tibet uses types A and I. A universal travel adapter is the best thing to bring.

    Can I charge my camera at Rongbuk?

    Maybe. They have a generator, but it is not on all the time. Bring a large power bank. Keep your batteries warm in your pocket.

    What is the drive from Zhangmu to Kathmandu like?

    The drive is about 4 hours. The road is rough and winding. It follows a deep river valley.

    What happens if EBC is closed?

    Sometimes, the government closes the road to EBC without notice. If this happens, we cannot go. This is rare, but it is not in our control.

    What is the best month to go?

    May, September, and October are best. These months have the clearest skies. You have the best chance to see Mount Everest.

    Is this a hard trek?

    No. This is a driving tour. The only walking is sightseeing. The "trek" to EBC is a 16km round trip, but most people take the local bus.
