We usually use private vehicles such as SUVs, vans, or minibusses for transportation, depending on the size of the group.
Are there any health precautions or considerations I should keep in mind?
As long as you are healthy you don’t have to worry much about this tour. If you have any underlying health problems we suggest you have a checkup with doctors before joining this trip for your safety.
What should I pack for the tour?
You need to pack clothing items, footwear, toiletries, electronic devices, personal medication, travel documents, and other miscellaneous items.
When is the best time for the Bhutan tour?
The best times are spring (March to May) and fall (September to November). The weather is clear, with blue skies.
Is it safe to travel to Bhutan?
Yes. Bhutan is one of the safest countries in the world. It has a very low crime rate and is safe for solo travelers.

Is it possible to extend the tour?
Yes, it is possible to extend the tour but for that, you need to consult with us if you need any change during the tour journey.
How difficult is the Tiger's Nest hike?
It is a moderate hike. The round trip is about 6 km and takes 4-7 hours. The trail is steep in parts, but most people can do it.
What is the max altitude on this tour?
The highest point you visit is the Dochula Pass (3,100 m). The highest you sleep is in Wangdi (listed as 3000m).
What is the driving like?
The drives are scenic, but they are on mountain roads.
- Paro to Thimphu: About 1.5 hours.
- Thimphu to Wangdi: About 3 hours.
- Wangdi to Gangtey: About 2.5 hours. These times can change based on road work and stops.
What kind of vehicle is used?
We use comfortable, private vehicles. For small groups, this is usually an SUV or van.
How much is the Bhutan tourist fee?
The Sustainable Development Fee (SDF) is 100 USD per person, per night. This fee is not part of your tour price. It goes to the Bhutanese government.
Do I need a visa for Bhutan?
Yes. We will get your Bhutan visa for you. The flight to Bhutan is from Kathmandu, so you will also need a Nepal visa.
What money should I bring?
Bring US Dollars. You can change them for the local money, the Ngultrum. Indian Rupees (INR) are also accepted.
Can I use credit cards?
Do not rely on them. Big hotels may take them, but most places only take cash. ATMs often do not work with foreign cards.
What is the food like?
You will eat a mix of traditional Bhutanese cuisine and simple tourist fare. Most meals include rice and vegetables. We can ask for mild food.
Is there a dress code?
Yes, for temples and forts (Dzongs). You must cover your shoulders and knees. You also must remove hats. Casual clothes are fine for drives and towns.
Do I need special vaccines?
No special shots are required for this tour. Your routine vaccines should be up to date. Ask your doctor for medical advice.
What power plugs are used?
Bhutan uses 230V power. The sockets are type C, D, and G (common in India and the UK). Bring a universal travel adapter.
Is there internet or Wi-Fi?
Most hotels will offer Wi-Fi. It can be slow. You can also purchase a tourist SIM card at the airport for data usage.
