Is there a chance of having altitude sickness on this tour?
Since you will be walking at a maximum height of 3100 m so having the chance of altitude sickness is almost zero.
Is travel insurance is Mandotatory?
Travel insurance will help you to cover things like ticket cancellations, medical crises, evacuation, theft, and loss of personal belongings. So we highly recommend having it before joining this tour.
What are the difficulties of this tour?
The main difficulties of this tour are long hours of riding and walking in steep areas during the hike. If you are physically fit, it will not be such a big problem for you.
Do I need a visa for Bhutan?
Yes. Your tour package includes the cost of the Bhutan visa. We get the visa for you. You will also need a Nepal visa for your flight from Kathmandu.
Can I do a solo tour?
The government of Bhutan has imposed a restriction for foreigners to travel solo. Therefore you must go through the registered trekking or tour agencies and you must hire a guide or driver.
Do I need a permit?
Yes, you need to have the permit for this tour. Thireyeadventure will manage all the permits on their behalf. If you have any queries or questions regarding the tour you can message or contact us.
Does this tour include the Tiger's Nest hike?
No. This 5-day itinerary is a fast-paced driving tour. It does not have time for the 4-6 hour hike to the Tiger's Nest.
How much driving is there?
This tour has a lot of driving. Day 4 is a very long travel day.

What is the max altitude on this tour?
The highest point you visit is the Dochula Pass (3,100 m). The highest you sleep is in Wangdi (listed as 3000m). You will not experience altitude sickness.
What kind of vehicle is used?
We use comfortable, private vehicles. For small groups, this is usually an SUV or van.
How much is the Bhutan tourist fee?
The Sustainable Development Fee (SDF) is 100 USD per person, per night. This fee is not part of your tour price. It goes to the Bhutanese government.
Is Bhutan safe to visit?
Yes. Bhutan is one of the safest countries in the world. It has a very low crime rate and is safe for solo travelers.
What money should I bring?
Bring US Dollars. You can change them for the local money, the Ngultrum. Indian Rupees (INR) are also accepted.
Can I use credit cards?
Do not rely on them. Big hotels may take them, but most places only take cash. ATMs often do not work with foreign cards.
What is the food like?
You will eat a mix of traditional Bhutanese cuisine and simple tourist fare. Most meals include rice and vegetables. We can ask for mild food.
Is there a dress code?
Yes, for temples and forts (Dzongs). You must cover your shoulders and knees. You also must remove hats. Casual clothes are fine for drives and towns.
Do I need special vaccines?
No special shots are required for this tour. Your routine vaccines should be up to date. Ask your doctor for medical advice.
What power plugs are used?
Bhutan uses 230V power. The sockets are type C, D, and G (common in India and the UK). Bring a universal travel adapter.
Is there internet or Wi-Fi?
Most hotels will offer Wi-Fi. It can be slow. You can also purchase a tourist SIM card at the airport for data usage.
When is the best time for this tour?
The best times are spring (March to May) and fall (September to November). The weather is clear, with blue skies.
