What is the max altitude on this tour?

The highest point you visit is Dochula Pass (3100m). The highest you sleep is in Wangdi (3000m). You will not have problems with altitude sickness.

    What is special about Bumthang?

Bumthang is the religious heartland of Bhutan. It is where Buddhism started in the country. The temples there are some of the oldest and most important.

Will I see the Black-Necked Cranes?

You will visit their home in the Phobjikha Valley. The cranes are only there in winter (late October to mid-February). If you travel at other times, you will not see the cranes.

How much is the Bhutan tourist fee?

The Sustainable Development Fee (SDF) is 100 USD per person, per night. This fee is not part of your tour price. It goes to the Bhutanese government.

Yes. Bhutan is one of the safest countries in the world. It has a very low crime rate.

    What money should I bring?

Bring US Dollars. You can change them for the local money, the Ngultrum. Indian Rupees (INR) are also accepted.

    Can I use credit cards?

Do not rely on them. Big hotels may take them, but most places only take cash. This is very true in Trongsa and Bumthang.
