Our Chulu East Peak Climbing package is an adventure, taking brave climbers to the tip-top of Chulu East (6,584 meters). The majestic peak looms over the Manang district with a heart-stopping view of the Annapurna region peaks. Trudge step by step on the ridgeline of snow, rock, and ice that leads to the pinnacle of the peak. At this moment, turn in all directions and look out in awe at the sheer vastness of the Himalayas.

Chulu East lies just above Manang and fits perfectly into the Annapurna Circuit Trek – one of the greatest trekking trails in the world. To take on this glorious trek with an ascent of Chulu East is an opportunity few get to take. So, come to have the adventure of a lifetime and join us on this incredible package.

Carve along the Marsyangdi River Valley past the quintessential Annapurna region landscape: diverse forests (including lush rhododendron trees), rock-filled streams, and terraced hills. Watch the scenery rapidly change and become more unique as we ascend day by day.

Time flies as each day gets more and more exciting. Soon, we are at Chulu East Base Camp briefing on our upcoming climb. At High Camp, we make sure our gear is intact and that we are all set to go. Before the crack of dawn, we wake up and begin towards the summit. The sun rises as we are ascending, producing a most excellent view. We watch the first light of the day hit the peaks with glowing orange-red colour. At the top of Chulu East, we see the extensive Manang Valley and a whole array of Himalayan peaks. Many climbers feel tears come to their eyes at this moment from being overwhelmed by the sheer beauty of the landscape below.

The journey is not over yet. Continue the circuit trail to the Thorong La Pas (5,416 meters) – another early morning wake-up call with a splendid view. The high alpine crossing gives views of Dhaulagiri (8,167m)Manaslu (8,156m), and Annapurna I (8,090m), three of the ten highest peaks in the world. Descending from the mountaintop, we begin the lower Mustang adventure. Our introduction leads us to Muktinath.
Immediately we notice the difference in our environment – vegetation has turned to rock and rubble. High cliffs with caves embedded in them take the place of snowy mountains, though we still have mountain views in the distance. Check out Muktinath Temple, a famous pilgrimage destination for both Hindus and Buddhists throughout India and Nepal.
To the end of Chulu East Peak Climbing, we pass through the unique Kali Gandaki Gorge and say farewell to the mountains, with sights set on your next Himalayan adventure. Our Chulu East Peak Climbing itinerary has been designed by expert climbers to maximize acclimatization periods and prevent altitude sickness. We do everything possible to allow you to have a successful ascent. We can manage the itinerary and costs accordingly.
Also, novice and expert climbers alike can take part in Chulu Peak Climbing.Climb Chulu East Peak any time of the year. The best times to make the trip, though, are during the spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) seasons. These seasons provide the best weather and clearest skies. It is possible to climb in the winter, though the snow can pose additional challenges. Third Eye Adventure Pvt. Ltd. handles the trek with complete management. If you have any questions about the climb, do ask!

Frequently Asked Questions.

What is the difference between Chulu East and Chulu West?

Faq icon toggle

The main difference between the Chulu East and the Chulu west is the difficulty levels and technical requirements. Chulu East is technically easier and less challenging which makes it suitable for climbers with moderate experience. For the Chulu West you need to have high mountaineering skills and experience.

How crowded is the path to Chulu East Peak?

Faq icon toggle

The trail to Chulu East Peak is not as busy as popular routes like the Annapurna Circuit. It gets a bit crowded up to Yak Kharka, but that’s mostly because people are trekking to the Annapurna Circuit, not the peak itself. Only a few climbers actually go all the way to the summit of Chulu East.

Is Chulu East suitable for beginners?

Faq icon toggle

Chulu East Peak is great for beginner trekkers who want to try climbing mountains but prefer shorter walks. It reaches a height of 6584 meters and is suitable for hikers of all ages. The trek starts from Pokhara, and goes through hills, villages, and a base camp. With a professional guide’s help, trekkers will cross snowy areas and reach the summit.

What are the accommodations like during the trek? Are they readily available?

Faq icon toggle

Accommodations on the way to Chulu East Peak are quite standard, offering all the necessary facilities. You will find a range of options, from homestays to lodges and hotels, especially in lower areas. As you go higher, tea houses are more common and convenient, although they offer fewer amenities like basic bedrooms with bedsheets and pillows.

They are affordable and available throughout the year, but they can get busy during peak seasons. To be safe we request you to book accommodations early.

How much weight can a porter carry during the trek?

Faq icon toggle

A porter on the Annapurna Circuit can usually carry the belongings of two people at once. They can manage a maximum weight of 15-20 kg, and the cost typically ranges from US$20 to US$25, depending on the weight of the luggage.

Do I need to arrange for a guide, or will one be provided?

Faq icon toggle

If you are traveling with a trekking company they will arrange a guide for you. The cost of hiring the Guide will be included in the package. But if you are trekking on your own, it’s best to find a guide yourself. You can ask the locals at lodges or guesthouses for recommendations. They can help you find a good guide who knows the routes well and speaks English fluently.

Do I need travel insurance for Chulu East Peak Climbing?

Faq icon toggle

You don’t have to get travel insurance for trekking in Nepal, but it’s a good idea to have it. It helps cover any damages or injuries that might happen during the trek, including medical expenses and emergency evacuation costs. Having travel insurance keeps you safe in case anything unexpected happens.

Just back from a 2 week trip to Nepal with Third Eye Adventure. Everything was perfect – weather, accommodation in both Kathmandu and on our trek, our guide – he was really helpful, enthusiastic and made the whole experience very enjoyable. The trek was planned so that we acclimatised very well and neither me or my husband suffered with any altitude sickness or tummy bugs. Ganesh  organisated the whole thing really well and left us nothing to worry about. I would definitely recommend them to anyone and would use them again when we hopefully return to Nepal.
