I was delayed by a day with my group as I didn’t make the flight on time to Kathmandu. Rabin was with me from Day 2 (KTM – Lukla) and we pushed for Namche on the same day (Lukla – Namche) in order to catch up, skipping the overnight in Phakding. Awesome guide, he’ll take care of you all the way. Kept on asking if I want to push to Namche or we can stay the night as it is a tough climb and it was raining the whole afternoon but I pushed through.He’ll assist you every step of the way. He offered to carry my water bottle to lighten up my weight (even though I already have a very light day bag but I’m a weak climber lol) and kind of abused that through the rest of the trek to EBC hehe.His witty comebacks and sense of humor and fun will keep you company.His resourcefulness is unparalleled as well. We are in Lukla and had a last minute decision to fly to KTM as the next couple of days were forecasted as bad weather. But that day no planes were arriving and a lot of people waiting in the airport. Imagine, 8:30 am we notified him of our decision to fly that day and by 9:30 we are on the plane going to another airport 4 hrs from KTM and we’ll just take a private van from there. We boarded way ahead of the people in the airport who was waiting since early in the morning. Insane logistics. Highly recommended.And of course Nitesh did an awesome job being our guide and entertaining us with his dances and music along the way. I struggled at certain parts of the trail and he offered to carry my bag just to ease the weight.These two are just the best in doing their job. 10/10!
My most recent climb has been by far the most challenging and life changing. The trail to Mt. Everest Base Camp has opened a lot of realizations and perspective that nobody can bring us down if our mind functions positively.
After 12 days of non-stop conquest, finally my dear friends! I am now at the comfort of my hotel room safe and sound.
