Tent Peak also called as Tharpu Chuli a local name as Registrated in NMA (Nepal Mountaineering Association) list of trekking peaks, which towers at the height of 5,663 m / 18,575 ft high, where altitude of the peak might differ with various maps and guide books.

Tent Peak / Tharpu Chuli Climbing, one of the most exciting and tough climbing trekking peaks of Nepal Himalaya, Tent peak name was given by early explorer and climbers as it appears the shape of a Tent looking from Annapurna base camp within scenic Sanctuary.

Adventure to Tent Peak / Tharpu Chuli climb starts and ends at beautiful city and valley of Pokhara, a renowned touristic spot in whole Himalaya countries blessed with charming scenery of high snow capped peaks of Annapurna and Machhapuchare Himal the famous Fish-Tail peak that reflects on its serene lakes of Phewa and Begnas.

From Pokhara head towards high hills within nice lovely villages of Ghandruk and Chomrong large villages of Gurung the hill tribes of Annapurna Himalaya, Chomrong the last permanent village on route Annapurna Sanctuary towards Annapurna and Tent peak base camps.

On leaving the last large village with steep climb to reach within deep gorge of Modi River covered within dense forest of bamboo, rhododendron and pine trees as walk follows river upstream to reach a wide open field entering into beautiful and most scenic Annapurna Sanctuary enclosed within series of high peaks.

From the start of sanctuary walks get pleasant facing views of mountains on both side of the trail to reach in the heart of Annapurna Himalaya at famous Annapurna base camp above 4,130 m high.

With time to soak within stunning panorama of towering peaks of Annapurna range, then our route diverts from main trails to reach complete isolated corners of the sanctuary at Tent Peak or Tharpu Chuli base camp.

From here onward staying in tented camps for adventurous climb to the top of Tent Peak, allowing extra days for acclimatization as well for final preparation as Tent peak climb one of the toughest peak to climb requires much technical skills.

Finally as weather permits ascent to the top of Tent Peak / Tharpu Chuli where the grade is TD means ‘Technical Difficule’ used from popular French / Swiss Alpine Climbing Classification Systems.

Climb takes you to vertical ridge of ice and snow with more rocky areas to tackle where our expert guide will fix ropes and necessary arrangement for safe climb and descend then at last reach the summit of Tent Peak at above 5,663 m / 18,575 ft high.

On the top enjoy fantastic panorama of whole range of Annapurna peaks and as far towards Manaslu in the east with some far western peaks, after a glorious and arduous climb safe descend to base camp and head towards the main trekking trail from Annapurna Sanctuary onward.

Walk takes you far downhill within nice cool forest and then back into farm lands and villages with last overnight stop at a place called Jhinu where one can enjoy refreshing natural hot-spring before reaching at beautiful Pokhara city.

Tent Peak / Tharpu Chuli Climbing completes at Pokhara by the side of lovely serene Phewa Lake after a great wonderful adventure with ever lasting memories of the great walks on climb of high peaks of Annapurna Himalaya.

  • Day 02In Kathmandu for trek preparation with option for tour at places of interest.
  • Day 03Drive or Fly to Pokhara 860 m - 06 hrs and transfer to hotel.
  • Day 04Drive to trekking point and walk to Ghandruk 1,940m - 06 hrs.
