Best of Nepal Tour and Trek - 14 days

Your tour starts as you arrive at the airport in Kathmandu. Upon your arrival we will greet you with a traditional garland (floral wreath worn around your neck). This is our way of saying welcome to Nepal. You will then be transferred by car to your hotel to settle in. You might choose to go for a walk around after some rest and later in the evening we will organize a welcome dinner at an excellent traditional Nepalese Restaurant.

After breakfast your guide will take you by private vehicle to Pashupatinath temple, one of the most sacred sites for Hindus in Nepal. Our next stop will be Bodhnath, one of the largest Buddhist stupas in the world. This is your chance to see some of the thousands of pilgrims who gather to walk around the dome each day. Climb up to one of the many rooftop cafes for lunch and be rewarded with a bird’s-eye view of the entire square. After lunch explore the medieval town of Patan, then head up to Nagarkot for sunset. This town has become famous as one of the best spots to view Mount Everest, as well as other snow-topped peaks in the Himalayan range of eastern Nepal.

Enjoy a breathtaking sunrise from your hotel, or a 45min walk will lead to a viewing tower, where 360º views of the surroundings High Himalayan Ranges can be seen. After Breakfast we drive down to the medieval town of Bhaktapur, before heading back to our hotel in Kathmandu. After lunch the day is the Buddhist temple Swayambhunath, mobbed by monkeys and soaring above the city on a hilltop, the ‘Monkey Temple’ is a fascinating, chaotic jumble of Buddhist and Hindu iconography. This is a great place to end your day, so enjoy the view and maybe catch a sunset before heading back to your hotel for dinner.

After Breakfast you will be taken to the airport to catch your flight to Pokhara. Once you arrive in Pokhara, we will drive to the small village of Hile to start your trek. Your guide will then check you in at the tourist check point in Birethati. The trail leads up through beautiful rice, maize and millet farms passing through several countryside villages all the way up to Tikhedhunga then walk further until Ulleri. You only need to climb about 2000 stone steps from Tikhedhunga.

The trail goes steep up for 1.5 hours through stone steps where the trail leads through cultivated fields. The rest of the trail weaves through enchanting rhododendron and oak forest (blooms in March, April). Arriving at the top of the Ghorepani pass, you will be taken to your accommodation and have a chance to rest your feet.

It’s an early morning start today as you hike one hour up to Poon Hill (3210m). This hill is famous for its sunrise views of the Annapurna range. The glowing mountains are superb for photographers. After about one hour we will walk back down to the lodge at Ghorepani. After breakfast we will start the trek to Ghandruk. A steep uphill walk to the village of Deurali, will offer more spectacular views of the mountains. After taking in the views, we pass through more rhododendron forest on our way down to the river. Crossing the bridge we head up to the village of Tadapani. From Tadapani we will gradually make our way down to Ghandruk. Ghandruk is a beautiful village occupied with an ethnic cast of Gurung. You can explore its rich culture as well as the museum.

Walk all the way down through steps till Syauli bazaar. From where we take vehicle drive back to Pokhara. We will spend the next 3 nights in this area so you have plenty of time to explore. Short walks, day spas, paragliding, white water rafting and shopping are just some of your options.

After breakfast you can start to explore Pokhara. This afternoon you journey up the world peace pagoda sitting high above Pokhara. Enjoy panoramic views of Machhapucchre, Annapurna, Manaslu and Dhaulagiri. Savour the enchanting sight of the pristine Phewa Lake and the valley floor stretching below.

Today you have the entire day to explore Pokhara. If you’re feeling adventurous then why not try Paragliding, or even riding the world’s longest and fastest zip line.

After breakfast you will take a tourist bus to Royal Chitwan National Park. Chitwan is best known for its culture and wildlife activities and also for being the oldest national park in Nepal. Chitwan means “heart of the jungle”, because of its dense forests and wild animals such as Bengal tigers, rare one horned rhino, elephants and many more. On arrival you will be greeted with welcome drinks and shown to your rooms. After lunch our Chitwan representative will brief you on the next 2 days activities. The afternoon’s activities include a visit to a local Tharu village, visit to the elephant stables, and a riverside walk during sunset and after dinner watch a Tharu cultural stick dance.

After breakfast head into Chitwan national park to enjoy a canoe ride and do some bird watching. See baby elephants at the breeding centre, then watch the elephants being bathed in the river. After Lunch it’s time to put on your safari hat as you take a jeep ride into the jungle. Keep your eyes open as you might be lucky to see the rare One Horned Rhino, Sloth bear or even a Bengal tiger.

If you like your birds, then it’s an early start as Chitwan is a great location for bird watching. More than 500 species have been recorded here. Or choose to sleep in. After breakfast we leave the resort and take the tourist bus back to Kathmandu. Once back in Kathmandu, the rest of the afternoon is yours to explore the city.

Head to the Kathmandu airport for your Everest mountain flight. After witnessing incredible views of the highest mountains in the world it’s time for breakfast. Why not escape the urban bustle next with a trip to the tranquil garden of dreams, a beautiful garden oasis in the heart of the city. Free time in the afternoon to go shopping, explore Kathmandu or just rest.

Our agency’s representative will greet you at your hotel and offer you a Khada (scarf). Wearing a Khada means good luck and protection. Afterwards you will be taken to the airport. Farewell from Nepal.
