When it comes to the best glacier destination in Nepal, trekking in the Langtang Trek gives you an unforgettable walking experience and shows you the amazing ice formation as well as spellbound beauty in its most peaceful area you can explore. Another landmark is the thickness of the glaciers and the dramatic view of the mountains that turn themselves into snowy paradise while you look at the prominent mountain of the region, that is, Langtang Lirung (7246 m) which is surrounded by lush pine forest and meadows and which is picturesque in the magical rugged terrains.

As you follow the trekking trail of scenic nature, you are undeniably on the number one tourist attraction of the Langtang region, and hundreds of trekkers head out to this region of unmatchable beauties. The region houses many natural attractions that you will come across which are worthy of being photographed during the trekking, including the Langtang River with crystal clear water which lies within the surrounding ranges of hills and mountains. On the other hand, equally, the interior beauty of Kyanjin Gompa leaves the travellers awe-struck that are rarely seen in other monasteries in the world. From there, you reach the top of Kyanjin Ri successfully to enjoy the view of mountains that are on 4 sides of your direction.

The day-to-day trekking itinerary of the Langtang Valley Trekking is different from one another in terms of walking hours on a steep trail. And you will also see the mountains that are very famous among tourists like Dorje Lakpa and eight thousand meters one like Shisapangma which is peeping you with its tip from Tibet. There are also other mountains like Ganesh Himal, Manaslu, Pemathang Ri, Langshisha Ri, Dorje Lakpa, and Kangchenpo looking at you. The sight of these mountains is jaw-dropping. But when you look at them, you cannot match this experience with any other activity. The moraine that you are going to walk ahead looks beautifully, fully covered, stunningly, covering an ice path.

Langtang Trek is a famed trek after Everest and Annapurna on the list of trekkers who are heading to Nepal. And the valley is beautified by the Tamang villages that are tucked away on the slope of the hills. Since you are inside the natural beauty of the Langtang National Park, you are enjoying a great beauty of excellence. Its trekking trail also gives you an opportunity to explore colourful Tibetan culture which is unique and which also makes the Langtang region the must-include destination on the list of trekkers from around the world of people who want to have a great outdoor explosive trekking experience in the Himalayan region of Nepal.

Best Season For Langtang Trek

March, April, and May are the best times for trekking in every corner of Nepal. Because the temperature becomes warmer gradually. Although in March, the leaves of some trees fall, we also see some flowers blooming. You could not say no to these months that are favourable from every tourism aspect. Tourists do come to Nepal for trekking in these months from Turkey and the USA, including the UK, Australia, and India. And it is during these months that a well-marked Himalayan trekking trail of the Langtang region creates easier access for the trekkers heading to the desired destination.

September, October, and November are the other best months to visit Nepal because they guarantee the result. The weather is too perfect. Prior to these months, there was a monsoon, and it did its job by washing all the dust particles from the air, and now the skies are clear as well as blue most of the time.

December, January, and February are colder months, but we know very well there has never been a shortage of winter tourists in Nepal from European countries. The perfect winter condition in Nepal meets the taste of the Europeans.

How difficult is the Langtang Valley Trek?

Its trail comes under 4 topics: easy, moderate, difficult, and strenuous. From start to finish, you will experience this. One thing is clear: it is not difficult like the Everest Base Camp Trek. There might be physical difficulties at a higher elevation like 4000 m plus. Most of the time, it is an uphill climb in the Langtang region. But you have to remember this uphill treacherous walk is scenic and enjoyable. When you are in the heart of the Langtang region, and from the vantage point, you will see the expansive view of the place where you have been trekking for a couple of days.

You might be subject to altitude mountain sickness at an elevation of 3000 m plus, but our trekking guide helps you overcome this problem easily. While walking downhill, you may have difficulty in balancing your knees, but that is a part of walking and should not be taken seriously. But one thing you have to be serious about is you must be fit and healthy in order to have the ability to walk up and down in the Langtang region to have great outdoor activities in your life.

Accommodation and Meals During the Langtang Valley Trek

Featuring mountain views, our lodge offers a room, attached bathroom, hot water facilities, Wi-Fi, and a dining hall. The hall has a fireplace with comfortable features. The lodge also provides a blanket, pillow, and foam. These three things are free, but you need to pay for Wi-Fi, hot water, and mobile charging. Dining out is great because what you are eating is homemade which means unadulterated food grown and cooked in the Himalayan region. What you can expect for breakfast is tea, juice, yak cheese, pancake, egg, potatoes, etc. For lunch and dinner, you are served: rice, curry, pulse, papad, and pickle. There is also a seasonal vegetable salad.

In Nepal, people have been consuming rice for hundreds of years as the primary source of carbohydrates. Since you need carbohydrates daily while walking uphill and downhill, you have to have it at least in the form of rice to meet the needs of your leg muscles. In the same way, protein in the form of the pulse cannot be ignored at all because it gives strength to your power too.

We very much believe in including protein in your diet during the Langtang Valley Trekking because protein is also beneficial to your bones. You get a lot of protein from eggs, pulse grains, and yak cheese. The curry that we serve you is made of vegetables. And the best thing about vegetable curries is they are also rich in protein, for example, pulse seeds that we use for making dal. The vegetable also plays a major role in the functioning of your heart as you walk uphill and downhill at an altitude of 4000 m plus in the heart of the Langtang region. It is to be remembered that the key to strength walking starts with carbohydrates and protein. Always finish your lunch and dinner completely in the Himalayan region; do not waste food.

How long does the Langtang Trek take?

Usually, the Langtang Valley Trek takes around 6-8 days on average. There is a day scheduled for acclimatization at Kyanjin Gompa but if we wish to shorten the trekking period then you can skip that. On the contrary, if you wish to lengthen the trekking journey then you can spend one extra day at Langtang village as well.
