Mountain junkies and Himalaya-philes, listen up! Our Three Passes Trek is a full Everest region circuit, an epic adventure over some of the highest mountain passes in the world. Traverse the Kongma La (La means Pass) (5535 meters), the highest of the passes, to the Cho La (5420 meters). Descend to the pristine Gokyo Lakes before climbing to the Renjo La (5345 meters).

In addition to crossing the three passes, trekkers can trek to the top of three incredible peaks: GokyoRi (5360m), Kala Patthar (5545m), and ChukkungRi (5550m). Each of these peaks offer a unique perspective on the Everest region lunar-like landscape. Besides the peaks and passes, you will also be able to say you visited Everest Base Camp, at the belly of the world’s tallest mountain.During the trek, we pass two famous glaciers: Ngozumpa Glacier and Khumbu Glacier. Words cannot describe the sheer beauty of the views that you are bound to see on this trek.

Of course, it is necessary to put in the work to see these views. We first fly to Lukla, the entry point to the Everest region. Follow the trail through Sherpa villages and lush agricultural fields above the DudhKoshi River. Officially enter Sagarmatha National Parkjust above Monjo and hike till Namche Bazaar. While here and throughout the trek, enjoy learning about Sherpa culture. They are the ethnic group that inhabit the region and you will find pleasure in understanding their way of life.

Soon after Namche, we arrive at Tengboche Monastery and feel rejuvenated by the spiritual and natural energy of the place. This slow and steady acclimatization process allows us to enjoy the trek to its fullest potential.

As mentioned before, this is a challenging excursion. However, those who have the guts and determination will be rewarded with the arguably the best views in all the Himalaya. See Mount Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Cho Oyu, and a multitude of other rugged peaks in all their glory. Each jaw-dropping viewpoint (GokyoRi, Kala Patthar, ChhukungRi, and so on) offer completely different angles of the region. Enjoy a perspective that can only be rivaled by a Everest Helicopter Tour.

To ascend three passes over 5000 meters is a feat reserved not for the especially physically fit or strong, but for the brave, adventurous, and determined. If you take sufficient time to acclimatize, it will be a successful and memorable trek.

You can take the Three Passes Trek all throughout the year. Just be wary of the weather and consult us for the best times. It is recommended to go during the spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) seasons. These seasons provide the best weather and clearest skies, not to mention that during the springtime, rhododendron and other alpine flowers are in bloom. Third Eye adventure Pvt. Ltd. handles the trek with complete management. If you have any questions about the trek, do ask!
